Legitimate Marriage

For weeks now, I have had a difficult time doing that which I used to do well.  The power of the pen, or today's near equivalent, the keyboard, cannot be overstated.  Yet, I find myself torn between so many issues that I just have been unable to properly dissect any one of them for presentation to a reader.  Even now, I am admittedly somewhat perplexed when pondering the enormous task that floods the path ahead.

"Choose your battles", is a common cry.  But which shall we choose?  From a political standpoint, globalism is unquestionably our greatest enemy currently.  The infringement of our right to keep and bear arms with over 23,000 gun laws is certainly of great concern.  Abortion is a heinous crime allowed, even encouraged by our governments.  Education is of great concern.  States rights, high taxes, health care, cap and trade are all worthy issues demanding our attention.  If that's not enough, I recently learned the city of Walker, Michigan is determined to require that churches within the city limits be licensed by the city in order to conduct their church functions.

But one issue came to the forefront last week.  It was brought to my attention by Scott Aughney, Congressional candidate for the seventh Congressional District.  It is an attack by government on the family, the very unit that offers stability to its attacker, for without the family unit intact, any government is extremely vulnerable.

Last week nine Representatives mostly from the Detroit area introduced three bills into the House.  The first is HIJR-NN.  This bill will place on the November 2010 ballot an option for the people to amend the state Constitution by striking Article 1, Section 25, which defines marriage in the state of Michigan as the union between a man and a woman.  The other two bills accommodate marriages between any two people (with limitations such as brother and sister) once the constitutional prohibition is removed.

This atrocity is certainly one to be met with a vigorous counter attack.

In this culture, we find a large movement driving us to return to the natural.  There is natural medicine, natural foods, organic oils, organic soaps and even organic pet food.  It is commonly recognized that natural and organic substance and behavior is good for the body and good for the earth.  Though the level of importance varies from person to person, these things are certainly something to be considered.

My question is, "Given all the concern over natural things, why do we, as a culture, tolerate the aggressive recruitment of the most unnatural behavior known to mankind?"  As we allow this Godless behavior to proceed, our society will erode to the point of utter destruction.
