Be Always Sure You're Right

Be Always Sure You’re Right – Then Go Ahead.

As devoted members and supporters of the US Taxpayers Party of Michigan (USTPM) we are often questioned as to why we are spending so much time, money and effort on a party that will never result in anything.  After all, we cannot win elections.  We have no political clout and will never influence government – right?

Listening to the scoffers we learn that this is a two party system in America.  On the political right we find the Republican Party.  If you consider yourself to be a conservative, you belong in the Republican camp and should be a faithful Republican voter.  If you have liberal tendencies and lean left, you should be a lifelong Democrat.

The Webster New World Dictionary, College Edition, 1959, defines conservative as, “tending to preserve established traditions or institutions and to resist or oppose any changes in these:  as, a conservative political party”.  Can someone show me a conservative political party within the scope of the big two?  If you honestly believe the Republicans are a conservative party, call me.  I’ll read the 2008 edition of their platform to you.  Be sure to have some aspirin close by.

The same dictionary defines liberal as, “favoring political reforms tending toward democracy and personal freedom for the individual”.  I’ll ask again, Can someone show me a liberal political party within the scope of the big two”?

For the purist, we do not have a democracy as we hear so many in government and the media claim.  Our fathers stopped short when they established a Representative Republic.  The dictionary continues by drawing a distinction between the tendency toward democracy, and the tendency toward a theocracy or monarchy.

The Republicans and Democrats have confounded the laws of our great nation; they have both bound us with the chains of international treaties and agreements; they have led us so far away from our constitutional foundations that we will not recover but by the grace of the Almighty God and the efforts of the true conservative liberals.

By definition, it is possible to be politically conservative and liberal at the same time in today’s America.  If America is to survive, political reforms are a current absolute.  The reforms needed must be engineered to bring political change as voiced by our current president, but not to produce his intended results.  The political reforms necessary must be crafted to produce the results of conservative constitutional adherence and liberal personal freedoms, which is the former’s natural end.

Consider this, our founding fathers engineered, established and produced a nation that our current lawmakers can’t even maintain.  Why is that?  Are we great today because of current policies being developed?  Do these policies and laws tend toward liberty and freedom?  What has either of the big two parties done in the last three decades (or the last ten for that matter) that has enhanced our lives?  Today’s greatness, today’s liberties, today’s freedom to worship God, voice our opinion, vote, work where we choose and all other liberties are all leftover from that which our fathers gave to us.  Liberty is not being developed today; it is being stolen, day after day, after day, after day.

Where do you find conservative liberalism in American politics?  There is only one place.  Consider the USTPM.  We are compelled to give all we have to return to the system our fathers established.  We understand that we must do it now, or we will lose it forever.  We are the true liberal and conservative party.  Come join with us in the preservation of the future of America.  Do it for yourself, your God and your posterity.
