USTPM Candidate Elected to Chair Allegan Tea Party

Stephen Young New Allegan Tea Party Chair 

Stephen Young, 2010 candidate for 3rd District Allegan County Commissioner  and treasurer for the Allegan County Committee of the US Taxpayers Party of Michigan was elected the new Chairman of the Allegan County Tea Party organization tonight at their monthly meeting in Allegan, Michigan.  Mr. Young is a resident of Hopkins.

Mr. Young believes that the Constitution is the document from which our government was formed and should be used as the determining factor in governing.  He looks forward to uniting the citizens of Allegan County to return government to our Constitition.

The Allegan County Tea Party is looking forward to a continued growth in the number of Patriots among us who desire to return to the Constitutional truths and values of our country's founding.

Mr. Young says, The original Tea Party consisted of a group of men standing in defiance of the King's laws which extorted money from the people by the outrageous taxing of life's basic needs and simple pleasures. That first Tea Party was more than just a tax revolt. It was based on certain foundational issues that had been stirring for many years. The main issue was that man's rights and responsibilities come from God, not government or a King. A belief that men were free to choose their own form of government, a government that would respect and maintain man’s individual rights and freedoms.

In our Declaration of Independence it was written like this:  “That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just Powers from the consent of the governed, — That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.”
 
Mr. Young and the Allegan County Tea Party will actively pursue and promote this thought as policy during this coming year. We the People can and will make a difference in this, OUR government. The only good politician is one that is out of a job. We are seeking Constitutional Statesmen! Step up if you qualify.
